Hastings holds the record for SUN. Highest monthly total recorded was 384 hours Eastbourne and Hastings, Sussex, in July 1911.
This site started out because I fly model helicopters in Hastings, and when learning it helps to fly in winds below 10mph. Our field is exposed and near the sea, so it helps to know what the weather like!
My weather station is a Oregon Scientific WM918 and is placed on the flats where I am superintendent. The position is just behind White Rock gardens in Summerfields, with the anemometer at 11 metres above sea level, and the main unit at 8 metres. Latitude 50° 51'N Longitude 0° 34'E.

Records started on the first of July 2001 and is hoped that the site will become a reference point for Hastings weather.
